|Thomas "Tombo" Cassavaugh was always smiling, Here he is at his "wish" trip to the Monster Jam World Finals in Las Vegas. The second picture is of him still smiling through one of his many treatments to help get him a healthy heart.|
|Team Tombo is raising money for a second year in a row in memory of Thomas Bruce Cassavaugh, "Tombo". Thomas was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart syndrome, a congenital heart defect. He had many open heart surgeries, procedures, and other operations to help repair his heart. In 2015, Thomas was put on the heart transplant list. On April 30, 2015, at age 10, Thomas lost his fight with HLHS. |
Thomas was lucky enough to receive his wish, thanks to the Make a Wish Foundation. He and his family went to Las Vegas to meet his heroes at the Monster Jam World Finals. As you can see in the picture above, it was a dream come true.
One of Thomas' lasting legacies was his happy, fun loving, and caring personality. He was always making sure others around him were happy and taken care of. In honor of this, His family has set out to raise enough money to grant another child their wish.
We are asking you to help us raise enough money to grant that wish and maybe even surpass that goal to help others on the way to their wish.
A Wish quite simply does what no medicine can – it helps bring precious moments of joy to children, their families and entire communities. In 2016, the Western and Central NC Make a Wish chapter plans to grant 273 wishes to eligible children at an average cost of $6,000 per wish. Please help us raise the funds necessary to make this possible. Making a donation is easy, secure and tax deductible! Just click the Give Now button and your contribution will be credited to help us Wish It Forward. Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated – no amount is too small.
Thank you for your support! Every dollar you donate can help spread the joy of a wish to kids like Thomas.
